InterVol volunteers are truly wonderful! They are dedicated, giving, and always up for something new! This email is from InterVol volunteer Margo Blevins in response to a request for volunteers for a new FAB project going to Belize in November---- this is what she had to say!!

I would love to help you brainstorm ideas of what to bring. Should i bring things that could be gifts along? What time were you thinking about meeting on the 18th? oh, and heres a little briefing on last intervol:

Intervol was so much fun! Molly and I got to do inventorying, which we haven't been able to do for a couple nights. We also got to do our good ol' favorite job of washing out the bins. Hey, someone's got to do it. But the thing is, no matter how strange the job may be, anything is fun at Intervol. Daisy and Dylan came too, and when the macarana came onto the radio, we all had to take a dance break. It was so much fun! I can't wait until next week.

So it is official, our volunteers have FUN!! Come check out our next sorting party on the 18th!! AND if you are interested in getting involved in our brainstorming for FAB please meet at the warehouse October 18th at 4pm. email jaimebarclay@hotmail.com for details!!

CALLING ALL FAB VOLUNTEERS!!!!!

Interested in helping a kid you will probobly never meet in a country you might never see? If you say YES then listen up!!

We will be traveling to Belize in November to say hello to some new and old friends--- most of which are children. SO what we decided we would do is travel with an extra piece of luggage filled with stuff they need, but is too expensive to buy--- and REMEMBER its going to be carried by me, Cindy, Dr. Pennino & our new friend Virginia... so keep it light! :) What I was thinking is to leave some things with the Scouts to distribute to their girl and boy scouting kids and take the rest of the stuff to the schools and orphanages we visit. What seems to be of the most need is general school supply kinda things--- possibly crafty items too! But aside from those items, I was hoping to collect some stuffed animals and other small "treats" (personal care items; such as body spray's and other items that we can get to easily). If anyone is interested in getting involved you can email me at jaimebarclay@hotmail.com or bring the items to the warehouse during a sorting party. Take a minute to read the note from the Hilberto from the Belize Scouting Association.

Thanks so much!

Jaime
A pleasant good morning to you!

It will be a pleasure to meet with you and your team during your visit in November.

It is good news to know that you have already put together 10 computers for us. This makes us very happy and we can now start preparing our room forthe computer lab which also means that we may be able to officially launch our program as part of Scout Week in February 2006, that is if we get them in time.

This means a lot to us as we are confident that such a program in this neighborhood will benefit many young persons who cannot afford to have a computer at home to complete school assignments etc. We already have a volunteer who will run and manage the lab after 5:00 p.m. and he is also very excited about the project. This will give us a good start in that direction.

If space permits and you can bring us a few supplies in November we would welcome the assistance. We can use some copy paper, crayons, notebooks and any additional item or stationery supplies would be welcome. Believe me, we can use basically any item during our activities with the Scouts. Materials are so expensive here and the less expensive an event, the more participants we have. For the shipment in early 2006, if you can locate a laminating machine we can use one as well, just in case you come across one. Again, please accept our heartfelt thanks for this generous assistance thatyou are providing to the Scouts of Belize. We are so grateful for all you do to assist those in need. Looking forward to meeting with you in November.

Sincerely,

Hilberto

InterVol Student Volunteer Margo Blevins ~

In 8th grade, my father became the Rotary advisor of Interact club (a student service club at Brighton High School). Intervol was one of the organizations where the club volunteered, and since my brother was going there for a health class requirement, I came along.

The people at Intervol were so nice and helpful, and you could always meet new people and learn interesting things every time you went. By the third time I came, I was hooked.

I'm a Junior this year. Coming back again and again to see familiar and new smiling faces plus making a difference gives me an amazing feeling.

Now, I bring my friends to Intervol with me to spread that feeling. Intervol has a healing atmosphere; no matter how bad my day was, coming to Intervol acts as an instant pick-me-up, and every time I come, I love knowing that I have helped to save a couple more lives.

Margo Blevins.
Good morning everyone; it's sorting party night at the InterVol warehouse!!

Remember, our sorting parties are from 6-8pm and our warehouse is located at 1600 Bastian Place.

If you are joining us for the first time tonight--please turn onto Bastian from N. Clinton and park in the fenced in parking lot on the left. We always have pizza and soda to keep up your stamina!! Thank you to everyone that has helped out in the past and we are looking forward to contributing even more supplies to those in need this upcoming year!!

please email us at intervol@yahoo.com if you have any questions regarding volunteering in the warehouse or for more information on how you can contribute your talents to the InterVol effort!
