FAB's Margo Blevins Writes:
The school supplies drive for Belize was more successful than we had expected.
Molly and I went on the Morning Show (a morning news program that are school has) and announced the two-week drive.
In Interact Club meetings, members made posters to put around the school about the Belize drive.
After school on the 16th (the last day of out drive), we went around with a cart and picked up boxes. Once we had all the boxes that we could - some rooms had been locked - we took all the supplies out and sorted them, just like in Intervol.
It was fun.
Then we put all the supplies in to boxes. While trying to move a white board out of our way, we accidentally knocked it over.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the leg of the white board got stuck in a cart with an overhead projector on it. The cart was partially lifted off the floor, and the projector was in danger of falling to the floor. Molly and I came to the rescue, and, with stunning teamwork, got the whiteboard leg out from inside the cart and brought it back upright. That was a little too exciting for my taste.
On Monday, we collected the rest of the boxes and sorted the supplies in the Interact meeting on Tuesday morning.
All in all, we ended up with seven full to the brim boxes of school supplies for Belize.
Thanks Brighton staff and students for all of your help, the interact members and officers (Jack, Vijay, Nick, Anne-France) for your help collecting the boxes, and to Bill for picking all the boxes up!
Thanks again Margo & Molly for your committment to FAB!!!
